so my daughters fantail has 1 visable anchor worm, theres about quarter to half inch floating out. where the worm is attached is all red and swollen but the fish is still eating. this is the first day we noticed anything wrong with the fantail.
whats the best med to use to get rid of this never encountered it before. ammonia nitrite and nitrate all 0 tank setup for about 2 months seeded with established media. water is room temp 25% w/c done weekly. 20 gallon is the tank size. nothing other then the faintail and some décor in the tank, the fish itself is about 4-5 inches long.
well went out and got some metro ms (metronidazole) it is both a antibacterial and treats internal and external parasites. ive read this is a fast killing parasite and today was the first that we noticed the problem. hopefully the treatment is in time.
