Do emerald crabs regenerate lost legs?
I currently got an emerald crab from my friend who has an overly populated tank with crabs.. and gave me one. I named it Stumpy because it has 3 legs on one side... but has 1 on the other but still is very active and has little trouble getting around... But what im concerned about is if it is ever going to get those other 2 legs back?
As far as I know, they cannot regenerate. Stumpy will be stumpy forever.
+1 to Matt's comment.
well as long as its getting around fine... Ive seen it climb to the top of the lr, and it kind of poked my anemone once or twice, but then left it alone and started eating algae around it... The anemone started "feeling" it with its tentacles, but nothing happened to the crab and it continued eating algae.. My crab seems to be hanging around my anemone too, like right under the umbrella part with the tentacles... Are they protecting each other? The crab doesnt seem to mind the tentacles touching it at all.
