I have just spotted some tiny tiny white worm-like things on the glass,There are only about 20 or so that I can see. They move like a maggot and are also in the gravel. They are only on one side of the tank. I thought it was dirt until I looked real close with a flash light. They were to small to take a picture.Any idea what they are,and how/what to do to get them the heck outta my tank?
Re: Unknown thing!
Feed once a day no more than the fish can finish in under a minute. Do that for two weeks and keep the aquarium clean by siphoning debris and the worms should disappear.
The nematodes are harmless, if unsightly, creatures.
I feed them 8-10 of BIO-GOLD (Medium)pellets in the morning, and either Cichlid staple, or Frozen krill in the afternoon. They eat the Krill promptly, but they dont really like the pellets.I will try what you said. The tank is very clean. 50% water changes every week with gravel vac. The fish are getting big, so that may be from the mess.Usually when I put the pellets in the water, they grab it up,then spit it out, it then falls to the gravel.Should I feed them Once a day at night or in the morning?
I feed mine once each day in the evening, and leave one day per week without feeding to give the fish digestive system a rest. The time of day doesn't really matter too much, really what is most convenient for you.
I feed mine in the evening because it gives me time to sit and watch them - it's a good time to spot any abnormalites with the fish early on as you get used to their habits.
thank you for the advise!!!!!!
