Cory Catfish..? ID Challenge
So my local store has a few catfish that look just like mine labeled "Cory Catfish" and I am wondering if that is what I have in my tank. He was given to me (along with others) so I am in the process of ID"ing" them. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could help and tell me exactly what he is.
Also, after researching a few on site it seems that most of them should be kept in packs of 3 or more. Should I add two more after we find out what his family line is or will he become territorial since he's probably been by himself for some time now?
Look's like corydoras Paleatus to these old eye's.
I agree. Click the shaded name Corydoras paleatus for the profile with photo. There is a long-fin form and an albino form of this species, but what is shown in the photos in this thread would appear to me to be the original.
And yes, they need a group of no less than 5; when you have more than one species, fewer can work and I always try to have at least 3 of a species. But the more corys the better, whatever the species, as these are highly social an dinteractive fish.
Thanks for the help! I am going to hopefully add a few more over the weekend. This guy is really active and all over the place as it is now. I'm sure he'll be happier though. Thanks again!
