Is water sprite the same thing as wysteria? Will it do okay in low light?

No, and no, James. Water sprite is Ceratopteris thalictroides, water wisteria is Hygrophila difformis. Neither will live for long in low light, sorry. You'd need at least 3 watts per gallon full spectrum light, with four or more better, to succeed with those plants. Neither is difficult to grow in bright light with an enriched substrate.

Its a different story when water wisteria is grown emerse..it grows and propagates like weed.

I have never had a proble growing either one. Wether I had the current fixtur eI have now which is right at 3 w/g or when I used the standard hood which was 1.8 w/g. They always grew like a weed for me. That is when I added enough nitrates to feed them.
