STRESS ZYME HELP!!!!
OOOOHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!!! Well today was doing a small water change in our 55 gal. tank, had been told to add some stress zyme to tank because it would help in the cycling process. Well.......my A-D-D kicked in and in the process I added 4 TABLEspoons instead of TEAspoons to the tank. WHAT SHOULD I DO?! It says to put 2 teaspoons per 10 gal. and I was adding a lil less cause I have had it up and running for a couple weeks so I put in a lil shy of 5 tablespoons (15 teaspoons) and I was only suppose to add 10 teaspoons! CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT?!
The best way to handle that is to do another water change, about 10%, without adding any to it... and do this daily for the next 4 - 5 days. That will help to neutralize the excess. I would do the first of those water changes right away.
The additional StressZyme shouldn't hurt. Your tank may get a little cloudy but water changes wouldn't hurt, but wouldn't be necessary.
personally, I would save yourself some money and skip the Stress zyme. I had a bad personal experience with the stuff, but that aside, it really does little if anything to benefit your system. The bacterias it alledges to provide are not the proper bacterias as you would develop in a naturally cycled environment.
