- - breeding goldfish? (http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/fish-breeding/breeding-goldfish-14150/)
i just got two goldfish from out of the pond i checked that they are a boy and a girl because the boy has white pimples and the girl is round and has a large vent the temperature in the tank is 24c they dont seem to be mating is this all right and how long until they mate?
Nature will have to take its course. There is no way to rush it. you will just have to have patience.
On a side note: Goldfish are a cold water fish, and 24c is way too warm for them. You'll have to figure out a way to get that tank cooled down, maybe then breeding will happen.....what size is your tank?
I have heard of a lot of breeding in ponds but very rarely in aquaria unless it is very large. Lots of plants in the pond with live foods gives them a boost to spawn. Also, more females than males is always a good choice so you see some competition from the females for the males attention.
