I just got 3 new cories
i got 3 Melanistus Cories i only got 3 because thats all my LFS had in stock last night. Is 3 enough or should i get some more or is 3 enough. the cories are in a 40 gallon with these fish:
2 Hi-Fin Black Tetra
2 Marigold Wag Swordtail
2 Sunset Patty
2 Red Fire Dwarf Gourami
2 Blue Paradise Fish
1 Albino Bristle Nose Pleco
2 Balloon Molly
2 Sliver Sailfin Mollies
I would say your three corys are plenty. I feel it prudent to say that many fish can be kept in a aquarium as long as one is willing to perform necessary water changes which may be twice per week depending on size of fish and amount of food they are fed. More fish equals more fish poo.
I suggest that 3 is fine for the fish's mental health but it would not be enough for me. In general cories are more active and fun to watch when you have at least 5 alike. The most I ever had that were all the same was 13. Its the group of cories that convinced me that they were not a cleanup crew, they were the main attraction in the tank.
