scarlet cleaner shrimp
Can a scarlet cleaner shrimp go in an 80 gallon with a chocolate chip sea star? I've read on other sites/forums that they can, but some people say the star will eat it. My sea star is medium sized and has been 100% compatible with my longspine urchin which a lot of people told me was not compatible.
I'd be careful, I've know alot of people who put a shrimp in with a star, and the star ate it.
ok will a size difference help. Like if i buy a cleaner shrimp on the large side would that give the shrimp a better chance? My star isn't too big, I don't know how big a cc can get but i know he doesn't grow very fast. He seems to have a good temperament, he has not even come remotely close to the urchin, and he has not harmed my christmas wrasse who sleeps in the sand bed at night. It would be helpful if I could get some info from a member who has had a good or bad experience with this combination.
