My fish are disapearing I have covers on all my tanks as I have 3 cats. Somehow my fish are disapearing. :? Could anyone help me figure out what is going on? |
so fish are jumpers even though we dont think they are i had a male platty in my sons tank and lost it my eldest son found it behind the tank where i couldnt see it all dried, very sad but i thought platties didnt jump, it is possible your fish are sucidial like my sons was, have you got glass on top? and if there are any holes i would suggest covering them well |
Most important question: What fish and what tank and where you put them? |
Not just from one tank but all of them? |
Yes I have them well covered. They are mollies and she was gone for two days and this morning we looked and there she was. Alive and well. We moved all the decorations and could not find her. Still don't know where she was. |
I once had an otocinclus that dissapeared for two weeks only to reappear. then when cleaning my filter HOB, Idiscovered approx five babies. The outflow from filter was below water line and oto must have swam up and into filter box to have her young. |
glad you found her. i have had fish dissapear,i have even dismantled my big tank to do a search  that was fun......NOT. |
Thank You all for the help. I'm glad I found her too. Now if I can just find my red danio now but think he is gone. |
sometimes by adding their favourite food they appear. |
I used to have danios that took great pleasure in jumping into the filter housing on a daily basis. They had no problems getting in there, but didn't seem to know how to get back out again. I ended up having to make a cover for the top of the filter housing after having to fish them out with a net on a daily basis. They can also jump out of the smallest gap in the hood. Good luck, I hope you find the danio. |
