Common pond snail?
This little fella came into the tank with some new plants.
I'm thinking it's most likely a common pond snail, but looking for clarification. Also, is it likely to start munching its way through my plants?
Steam it and add some butter/garlic sauce. Should be delicious.
lol that is funny and sick at the same time
Now I'm all grossed out and I'm just about to leave for dinner w/ parents.
It's kind of a cute snail though...what color is the body?
The body is black. I've come to the conclusion that it's a variety of pond snail, and while it won't do any damage to the plants alone, large numbers can wreak havok.
And large numbers it will become. Those guys will invade your tank and you'll soon have eggs everywhere. I always bleach my plants first to prevent this.
make a snail condo and keep him,you know you want too :)
Or send him to me for puffer food :D
I had over a dozen of those in my tank yesterday when I added my new puffer, and by the time I woke up this morning all that was left was their shells littering the bottom.
If you do decide to keep him, watch out with handling it, their shells are very soft and it's easy to accidentally pinch them too hard and smoosh them.
I'd love some for my legion of loaches.
Anyone seen John Travola in the musical Grease? If so, please sing along..
