Best kind of rocks to use?
Hey everyone, quick question.
What are the best kind of rocks to use in an african cichlid tank?
I like slate. It's flat and easy to build with without gluing pieces together and not having them fall over after a few days or so being set up.
If you want your pH higher 8.0+ then use rocks that help raise the pH of the water.
I use many different rocks. Lava lace rock, pagoda stone, tufa rock, even petrified wood. Alot depends upon the color of gravel I am using. Lava lace is probably the one I use most.
  I like flagstone and slate .Easy to find at local nurserys.
