Any ideas on seperating pure Laterite from gravel
My freshwater plants died and now that I don't have any, I want rid of the pure laterite I put in the tank. Its all mixed in with my blue gravel and looks awful. Does anyone know a good way to seperate these without manually having to pick each piece out, is there a way to make the clay dissolve?
It's a mess! I don't know of anyway to seperate it. When I did it I just pulled everything out of the tank and started over. The laterlite made a complete mess and turned the water to mud.
What I did...
I found it easiest to dry all the gravel (with pure laterite mixed it) out as when its wet it all sticks together. Then I found a sieve with quite large holes and shook a sieve full of gravel over a tub. As most of the pure laterite is smaller than my gravel, it was an easy way to seperate though quite time consuming.
