Questions about Ram Chiclids
So right now my biggest tank mate is my angelfish who I am returing to the store because they have been fighting like crazy lately and I'm afraid they'll move on to move tetras soon. I have a 38 gallon tank where the water levels are no concern, and the water ranges from 76-80.
So after my bad experiance with the angelfish I want to move on to a new "leader" of the tank, you know your favorite and most prized fish who you would never wanna get see hurt.
My fish are: neon teras, cardinal tetras, guppies, rubber lip plecos, clown loaches, yoyo loaches, and 2 dwarf gouramis.
The questions: Are the ram chiclids compatable with my fish and if not which ones?
Is it right for my temp. and would you reccomend anything speical like a plant that it likes. (Right now I have java moss, hornwordt and water wisteria.)
How big will they get?
How many should I get? What ones should I get? Can I mix colors, what looks good, etc.
Thank you so much!
What do you mean the temperature ranges from 76-80 degrees? Do you have a heater?
To figure out if these can fit, we need to know how many of each fish you have. Looking at it now, you are overstocked. The Clown Loaches need to be removed, as they will reach 12-14".
Also, what are you water params and water hardness?
And Water Parameters please?
I would say no to Rams unless you remove the Angels and Loaches.
Why no on the rams with loches??
I have a tank that,s 45g tall with 5female GBRs and 7 male GBRs and a school of 7 yo yo loches and never have a single trouble. they live in differnt areas of the tank. German blue rams middle to bottom and bottom for the loches. I've had a fry ever 3 weeks for 10 yrs from the GBRs and I lose a few to the loches but never the whole fry. this tanks been this set-up for 13yrs now. I got the GBRs before they where ever sold in the US market.
