Double check my stocking

Ok at this point I'm pretty sure I'm over stocked or very close to it. I can make some changes but I'm still in denial since I love all of my fish and can stare at my tank for hours.

4 German Blue Rams
6 Rosey Barbs
1 Pleco that won't grow over 4-5 inches
4 Guppies that I haven't rehomed yet but they're on the way to my work tank
6 Swartzii Cories, 1 adult and 5 babies
1 Flase Julii Cory
3 Aggazzi Cories

I'm done putting fish in there unless I can find another friend for Julie..my Julii but i'm not hopful.

What do you keep them in, Holly? A bucket or the bath tub? lol No tank size dear.

What is the size of the tank?

What are you using for filtration?

What are your ammonia, nitratite, and nitrate readings?

How often are you performing water changes, and what percentage are you changing out?

Is it planted (with live plants)

Can't really comment until we know these things..

I'm gonna guess it's the 55 in her tank blurb :)

Do I win a prize?? :D

dougz 04-03-2008 02:32 PM

How do you see someone's tank blurb? (new at this.. Sorry!)

Oh, I see it.. *slaps forehead*..

LOL

Yes Flashy...you win!!! :welldone: :yourock: :welldone: LOL 55g, fully planted with a XP3 canister filter. All levels are zero except nitrates which stay below 10ppm. Weekly water changes of about 25%.

With those readings, plants, and filter, you are definately not overstocked..

When your readings start to stay around 15-20ppm for nitrate a couple days after doing a WC is when you start to worry..

So the American Killifish Association is having the Northeast Convention in New York this year. September actually. It's only about a 4 hours ride so I would have an excuse to leave early Saturday morning and then have to spend the night for Sunday's schedule. Any suggestions for how many or what type would go well in my tank. I'm also eyeing an American Flag Cichlid at the lfs and I need a few more Julii cories.
