lux vs WPG?
so im not totally sure what lux is but from what i gather it is the measurement of how bright the light is. so with all the t5 and led ligthing espcially that is now everywhere seems that wpg is outdated method of determineing adequate lighting for plants, is lux the new wpg?
PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) is now used to judge how much light is present in a tank.
great article, thank you.
yep PAR is what you want to go off. Lux/lumens is a measure based off how the human eye sees light. It just so happens we see green light very well, which is a useless color for plants(they like red and blue). So what we view as a bight light my not be very bright for a plant.
