My oddity of brackish water Endler's Livebarrers

So I run a 15 gallon tank for the most part just to breed ghost and whisker shrimp. It's a brackish tank, with low salt levels. I put some feeder guppies in there to keep until it'd be time to feed my Bellonesox Killifish and Common Dwarf Moray. upon closer inspection, these weren't feeder guppies, they were Endler's livebarrers. I also have a Vampire shrimp in the tank. But these endlers seem to be thriving in the brackish water. I tried putting them in fresh and they started acting sluggish and a couple died.
Strange?
I think so.

Most livebearers can tolerate brackish conditions. Mollies and swords, for example thrive in semi-brack tanks.

Yes, it's just strange that they can no longer tolerate fresh.

Did you sloely adjust them to the fresh water or just change them over? if fish have been living in fresh/brackish water then the salinity should be increased/decreased slowly over a period of time before theywill be able to tolerate brackish/fresh water conditions.

slowly ofcorse.
I'm not cruel to fish.
