HELP REQUIRED : REDTAILED BLACK SHARK : specialist set up !!
HI all , just looking for information with reagrd setting up a specialist tank for a red tailed balck shark , I have alwaysed been fascinated by these fish . Im looking for information regarding what other fish come from the same region as red tailed black sharks . I think they come from thailand and indonesian regions .
I already have a 44 gallon 4 ft tank to house the project but was wondering if anyone has any ideas on substrate and decor as well as other compatable fish from the same region . many thanks for any replys
They come from the Mae Klong River in Thailand and im unsure of how to help u in finding a regional tank for them... i cant seem to find any more info then where they are from. sry.
Murray, there isn't much substrate in Mae Klong river. You will however be looking into sand which is often most recommended for river setups. Your kind of setup would consist of powerful flows up to 2000gph if you ask me. I've done a river setup. I still have it here.
Look here for photos.
The second link has photos of the rainbow sharks in their native habitats but bear in mind that your tank is only 44g so your selection is limited unless you wish to try 75g or even bigger. The bigger the tank, the greater the accomplishment.
