5G light

I would like to upgrade the lighting in my 5 G hex tank but I can't find any lights that will work. The incadescent lights over 10 watts aren't good, I put one in came home from work and my water was 86 degrees!!!! The screw in flourescent lights I can find are 50/50 coral lights, and a 20W pink light that makes my tank look HORRIBLE! Is there anything I can do to up the lighting? My plants in there aren't really doing that great and my puffers need their security.

Another question. When I trim my anacharis should I throw out the top or the bottom? Or will they both grow?

I think Home Depot sells 6700k bulbs that are 20W for $5-10. Those are good for plant growth.

If you go hood-less, or cut a space out of your hood, these may work:

Would these home depot bulbs be low heat? that's my main issue with the lighting, I figured I'd try the screw in flourescents but found out the 50/50 was more benificial to corals, and the pink one is just ugly.
