favourite fish to breed?
Brand new fully cycled tank ready to rock and roll now I just need to figure out what fish!? I've bred livebearer fish before eg. Guppies, Mollies, platies and still am but I would love a bit more if a challenge to be completely honest.
I was thinking cichlids now I've read about bettas. The new tank 60G but I do have a spare 20G at the moment and could easily get my hands on another which I believe two tanks are needed for beta breeding?
Any bred fish will be sold to my LFS and given to friends who are also fish hobbyists.
Oh dear now i'm thinking cichlids in the 60G and bettas in two 20G tanks... Why do I enjoy fish so much lol
Any personal opinions, suggestions etc would be much appreciated.

If it was my 60 gallon tank, I would try to breed African Cichlids. Labidochromis caeruleus are said to be one of the easier mouth brooders to breed.
If you are using the 20 gallon tanks, I would suggest that you try cories. C. aeneus and C. paleatus are said to be the easiest to breed; I have breed 3 Cories and the C. paleatus was the first that I tried. They have been been captive breed so they are less problematic then the wild species.
I have never breed Bettas but I believe they are better to be kept in several small tanks (5 gallon) and only put together in a larger tank for the actual breeding.
