How do I tell Danios apart?
I have 4 danios and a friend told me if the danio has a bigger belly than the other ones, that means that that fish is a female, he said. Is this statement true or false? How do i tell danios apart from females and males.[/list]
In some species of danios the female will get plumper than the males where the mlaes may be more streamline. In some species, the males are more colorful than the females. Somehwere I read that females will get egg spots toward the front of their tails.
I would say that any noteable distinct difference between two is a fair indication that one is male and one is female. With there being so many species it I don't know the distinct differences between them yet.
a picture speaks a thousand words
female is in foreground
Thanks, then that means i have two males and two females. Thanks again for the help.
