I've had these guys set up for about a week now, but I only just now got around to taking pictures.
About 2-3 weeks ago I was at the only fish store within driving distance and of course, with my eye for the out of the ordinary, I spotted these tiny, tiny little fish with beautiful blue eyes, labeled as pygmy gouramis. They were absolutely adorable, and while not nearly as flashy as the cardinal tetras they were being housed with, I was instantly enamored. Unfortunately, I was only there on the way to an errand, so I couldn't buy any at the time.
Some days later while my mom was visiting, I went back with the purpose of getting a pair, but to my disappointment, the tank they were in was being medicated. I didn't have my quarantine tank set up yet, let alone cycled, and I didn't want to throw them in to possibly contaminate my other fish, so I had to pass, once again. I was whining about it all day, ask my mom.
Against my paranoid thinking, they were still there when I came back a week later, and the tank was no longer being medicated, so I snatched up two of them. They now live happily with my two female betas in my little five gallon tank.
The smaller one to the left(he's closer to the camera so it's hard to tell the size difference) is Pigeon, and the one to the right is Siam.
they look great
Very pretty fish
Thanks. My mom kept bugging me about it, but I thought they were pretty. My parents are only interested in flashy fish. =P They think I'm weird for having catfish and little things like the sparkling gouramis.
l them to check out pics of my 55 gallon tank.
Dull Colored Fish are my fav :D
Now they arent exactly "average" shaped.
Nice gouramis. I had them myself with licorice gouramis. See my previous threads.
they're really pretty. :)
Very nice fish indeed!
Thanks a lot. :) Also, here's a picture of my flagtail/porthole catfish. It seemed like during the first week I never saw him, then I started seeing him on the edge of lights out/feeding time. Now he's just out and about during the day, and has taken to "sitting" atop the highest part of the driftwood. Funny little guy, now if only my syno would take an example and be a little more social as well. :P
looks great.
