Will my Pleco Eat Tetra Eggs?
Will my little 4 inch pleco eat the eggs in my breeding tank if my Black Skirt Tetra lets her eggs out? Should I remove the pleco?
Re: Will my Pleco Eat Tetra Eggs?
How should I keep my fry tank clean without a pleco? It is a little 10 gallon.
pleco's arent necesary in every tank. they are nice helpers but arent a need to have. u can just scrap algea off and do water changes as u should and it should be fine... you could even try Oto's though ive herd they eat egg's from time to time.
Otos are not necessary IMO and will not survive for long if algae supply is scarce. Use gravel vacuum cleaner and algae scraper. Cleaning the tank is not really much of a chore if you compare it to larger tanks.
lupin thats what zucinni is for 8)
If u get Oto's there are a few veggies they eat and also algea wafers... For Vegies they need to be softer for them to be able to be eat (soak in warm water or let site in tank for 2-3 days BUT get them out before they decompose to much)
Plecs or otos etc are not necessary, and there is no species of plec that I know off small enough for a 10g so I think it's best you moved him out anyway.
Fish should never be used as a substitute for good tank maintanence, especially plecs because of how dirty they cause tanks to be with their high waste production.
