Masked Julie Cichlid tank

So i was looking into starting my 2nd tank, in the future. And i was looking at a Masked Julie aquarium, i want it to be a small fitting aquarium, and ive read up, some websites/books say 10 gallons for a pair, some say 15, some say a 20. I was wondering, would a 10 gallon work for a pair? Or a single Julie?

20 gallon as they get to about 3", add a fair amount of rock and a pair will be happy.
