Safe to use gravel from Home Depot in aquariums?
 
Don't remember what the bag of gravel was called, but its comprised of random types and sizes of rock, I read that limestone can mess with the PH, though I don't know what small chunks of limestone look like.. of course it would be properly strained and rinsed beforehand. [/i]

River rock maybe? Finer gravel is better. Pea gravel should be fine. You may be able to mix the gravel from HD with aquarium gravel.
