Using a Rodent igloo in your aquarium
 

has anyone used these plastic igloos? mine was previously used with my guinea pigs. but they used it as a source of bullying. I washed it in pure whie vinegar and hot hot HOT water.

Any ornament or cave that wasn't specifically made to be aquarium safe, I wouldn't take a chance with.

But I do tend to be overly cautious :dunno:

Although it's always prudent to be conservative, it's likely that any plastic 'pet toys' will be relatively safe and not off gas toxic chemicals.

I have heard of folks using "hamster tubes" in their tanks, but all the ones I've seen are antimicrobial and I didn't want to risk it.

hhhmmm....all seems to be well with it so far. Last night the juvies were pretty mad their dinner was late. Water levels are all in line this morning. Every now n then an angel goes into the igloo to poke at the hornwort that is anchored to the igloo, but they usually find their way out easily.
