okay to add filter water during water change? I believe i read somewhere not to add distilled water. What about water that has gone through a brita filter? I have discovered that my tap water has .25-.5 ppm of ammonia. I have also testing our brita water and it has between 0 and .25ppm. Should i start using the brita water during water changes? Thanks guys! |
First the only thing 'wrong' with distilled water for the aquarium is that it is too pure, If minerals are added and pH is adjusted, it is just fine (same as RO, DI, RO/DI water). I believe Brita is pretty much just a carbon filter which removes many impurities and just like using activated carbon in the aquarium filter, it is just fine. |
