differnt types of rope fish?
 
Are there dufferent typesof rope fish? the onese i saw at the pet store was gray and slimy looking.

im pretty sure theres only one kind of true ropefish. sometimes youll see different things labeled as ropefish that are not. if it looks like these then its a real one:

Photos? There is only one ropefish I believe and several bichirs, lungfish, etc.

sorry, i don't have a digital camera right now. It is at a pet store anyway.

i can sort of describe it. It is really long like a rope fish, but the color is way different. It is gray, it looks scaless, looks slimy, nad they stay live in caves with others and doesn't look like it wants to come out. what is it?

I saw something like this on my trip to the pet store today. There were several of them with their heads kinda stuck in this cave/drift wood looking thing. They were wiggling, looked kinda slimy, and were a greyish black color. I don't remember what they called them though.

maybe it is a juvinlie rubber eel. It was much slimmer looking. Why did the ppetstore label it as rope fish when rubber eels look nothing like rope ifhs other than the snake looking body
