Coralife CFLs My 10 gallon freshwater recently had one of it's WalMart CFL bulbs burn out. Since I never knew what they really where I decided to go with a pair of Coralife Colormax CFL bulbs. These are the pink tinted ones, does anyone have any experience with these? Are they good for the plants? I thought the half 10K/half atinic ones would be too much for the 10 gallon. |
i've used them before and i just can't get past the color. i really don't like it.. right now i'm using a pair of Sylvania 13w CFL's that fit perfectly in my incandescent hood, and the color is perfect! |
What size tank are you using the 13 watters in? I had 10 watt CFLs (unknown brand and type from Wal Mart). In my little 10 gallon, they seemed awful bright, the pink tint mellows this out a little. It actually looks a little like the actual light you get just a few feet down when scuba diving. |
it's a ten gallon, but it's heavily (fake) planted and there's a big chunk of driftwood with space under it, so there's plenty of shade. |
