100gal freshwater, sump or not?

as it says in the title, opinions please

Depends on what else is going in..........both stock and plants(?) etc.

Not entirely necessary with the larger canister filter options out there, so i would presume that this is going to come down to personal preference.

I personally would likely opt for a kick a$$ canister. Fluval fx5 for some overkill! haha

Iv already got an nice big 2000lph cannister with uv steriliser for it, got it cheap but keeping options open

As Nilet said, this rather depends on what is intended for fish, plus if plants are included. For instance, you would not want that large a canister on a 100g planted tank, and you would not want UV [except with green water, but that shouldn't happen anyway].

Byron.

as stated pends on plants and fish

but also personal choice/situation

i used a sump on my 250L and found it to be lots less maintenance easier to do water changes and much more plus sides however finding an over flow box for your desired flow rate and needs is a bit harder and more expensive
