Whenever i see people ask/mention floating plants, i see them same boring ones mentioned. Now i managed to find FINALLY something i really liked, only to find out it was plastic! Major fail!
So is there a comprehensive list out there of all the floating plants?!?!?!?
This is what I've been able to find so far;
Cobomba (Cabomba caroliniana)
Duckweed (Lemna minor)
Fairy Moss (Azolla caroliniana)
Frogbit (Limnobium spongia)
Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum)
Parrot Feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum)
Parrot Feather "Red Stem" (Myriophyllum brasiliensis)
Primrose Creeper (Ludwigia peploides)
Water Fern (Salvinia Minima)
Water Celery "Flamingo" (Oenanthe javinica)
Water Cress (Rorippa nasturtium-aquaticum)
Water Hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes)
I DO NOT know whether all these are suitable, just what i've managed to find looking for floating plants etc.
Red Root Floater (Phyllanthus fluitans)
Waterwheel Plant (Aldrovanda vesiculosa)
dwarf water lettuce. as the regular strand is bigger then most tanks will accommodate when full grown...like the size of dinner plates.
salvinia (Salvinia auriculata )
Crystalwort (Riccia fluitans)
those are the only ones i can think of that were not mentioned.
