Hi everyone, I have a new Fluval 206 for sale, cheap

Hi, I realize this may not be the best place to post this, but the classifieds on this site didn't look nearly as active as this area, and I have a good deal that should get attention. I have a NEW Fluval 206 canister that I am trying to sell for cheap...I literally got it in the mail 2 days ago, but I wasn't aware that these filters need to be placed behind the aquarium so that the hosing is lined up straight. My aquarium is not on a conventional stand, and I live in a tiny apartment and don't have the option of moving my aquarium forward, so I have no possible way to set up this filter. I am very pissed to say the least, and the site I bought it from said I can't return it since I unpackaged some of the parts. This filter has never been assembled, used, or even touched water. I don't have the box, but I have all the instructions. $65 shipped to anywhere in continental US. PM me if interested, I also have an ebay account to show some feedback so you can trust I'm not some scammer, I just would like to get SOME cash back after making this mistake. This filter is 109$ listed, so this is a steal for a new canister. Sorry mods if this is not allowed!

The manual probably reads the same as any other canister manual as far as hoses are concerned, they're all going to say no kinks or loops and not too long etc. It can go under the tank, run the hoses through a hole in the cabinet and put the canister in the cabinet. If they send two pieces of hose and you use the full length, it will work. There is an interesting bit of fluid dynamics that will determine flow rates and water speeds in tubes, but they aren't going to supply too much hose. I don't see any reason why it can't go to one side if the hoses reach and are relatively straight... at least not looped or kinked.

I actually have two large loops inside my cabinet to mine, I haven't seen any troubles with it so far.

Jeff.

It wouldn't work for the cabinet my tank is on, it's hard to explain. Either way, I already sold it, haha. If any mods see this, feel free to lock/delete this thread.

Curious, what are you going to use instead?

Jeff.

I currently have a penguin bio-wheel HOB, but I wanted a new filter because my stupid biowheel always stops spinning, and I've tried lots of different things to fix it. It will start spinning again, but then it stops. It just annoys me to no end. Luckily my tank is very understocked and is heavily planted so I don't have a heavy bioload, but it still worries me. I'll probably try and find a new HOB filter, not sure what though. Probably start looking soon.

Check out the Aquaclear line, quiet, only moving part is the impeller, reconfigurable media box and they seem to be priced right. I already did some comparisons then went with a canister in the end.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

Jeff
