Brown Algae... Will a snail help?
My 12 gallon community tank suddenly came down with a brown algae epidemic and now it has taken over the ornaments, the gravel and parts of the acrylic.
Do snails eat algae? I've never had one and I don't really know much about them.
If so would one take care of the problem or would I be better off with an Oto or a small pleco?
I put an Apple snail and 2 Ottos in my 10G and they turned everything from green to sparkly. I don't know what the diff is between green and brown algae so I can't tell you if they will help but they worked great for my green algae problem.
