Stocking an 80 gallon?? I have 3 angelfish, 2 cherry barbs, one black widow, and several guppies... will this work? and what else can i add??? any ideas would be appreciated :-) |

Agree with generally increasing the groups, but not here. Angelfish are not compatible with this tetra; the latter is known to fin nip [see the profile, Black Widow Tetra]. So before you get more, consider either another tank or remove the one you have before your angels suffer. Same holds for the barb, these are too active for sedate companions. You can build a lovely peaceful community around the three angels. There are some tetra that do well with angelfish; Rosy Tetra and Roberts Tetra are two that add some nice red/purple colour and in a sufficient sized group (8 or more) should pose no problems. Substrate fish like corys are fine, a group of any species (single or mixed), no less than five but as you have space, a dozen. Check the profiles; some of the characins (tetra) also work, just watch out for likely nippers, and the medium rasbora are OK in groups. Byron. |
