Tank upgrade help!

Hi, I recently upgraded from a 10 g to 20 g tank.

I put almost all the old gravel in the new tank, plus some new gravel and tried to put as much of the old water as possible into the new tank. Along with the old decorations and some plants.

Does another cycle have to happen in the new tank?

Should I wait before getting a few more fish?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, your new tank will have to cycle, but it will go faster with the addition of the old gravel and decorations. Wait before you add additional fish so you don't overload the environment so much. If there's too many fish for the bacteria to keep up with, the cycle won't happen properly. Give it some time before you introduce anymore fish.

You will go through another cycle. Any time you set-up a new tank, a new cycle will occur. Yours will probably be somewhat quicker since you have used gravel in there. Definately wait a few weeks untill your levels are stabel to add anything.
