Fluval 4 old style
My fluval 4 filter doesn't seem to b kicking much out, when u put ur hand over the out pipe it's very gentle, is this right? I have a 120 litre tank and the fluval was 2nd hand so no instructions.
Thanks in advance
is this a fluval 4 plus filter like this
Fluval 4 Plus internal filter, Fluval Internal Filters
its the same as im running in my tropical tank so i might be able to assist, only took mine apart last night for maintenance :P
Nope it's the old old one lol. I have cleaned the sponge and it does seem a bit stronger now, didn't know if it was the propeller thing in it but I wouldn't know where to start, I was thinking of upgrading at some point and was thinking of the 4 plus, how do u rate it?
it a great filter if you have a big tank i highly recommend it from my experience.
it has adjustable flow like most filters but the difference between min and max if very noticeable,
Has two compartments for filtration media, comes as standard with two sponges but these can be replaced for whatever you like, for best results ive been told to run one sponge one carbon but have not yet to put this into practice.
The only con is that its big and bulky so sticks out like a sore thumb in an aquascape, so you might want to avoid if that's your kinda thing.
I believe fluval have a more up to date version of these filters now though with 3 stage filtration take a look: Fluval U3 Internal Filter
