can i add a cory?
I have a 10 gallon tank-20x12x10 with 4 otos(1inch max) and 2 balloon mollies(2-3inch). I originally had just otos, and wanted to add some cories. my mom convinced me to get the mollies instead so I have a top swimmer. The thing is, I'm still in love with cories! I really want some, is there any way I could add a cory to my tank? Is there something else I could put in that's even better?
I really wanted some cories ):
i would not add any cories to that tank, unless you rehome the otos :/ not really enough space for more bottom feeders. 10 gallon tanks are really small to begin with.
could I add a kuhli loach to help stir up the sand?I have lots of little caves and hidey spots.
Both the Kuhlis and Cories require a small school(min 5) to be happy in a tank. So I wouldn't add either to your tank.
I agree, you are at the limit. The molly get large. Check our profile for more info on these species, second heading from the left in the blue bar across the top of the page. Or click on the shaded name, Common Molly, Oto catfish.
Oh! no, they are not common mollies! I am aware that those get big. HUGE, like sometimes they get up to 5 inches! That's why I got BALLOON MOLLIES, they stay smaller, around 2 or 3 inches. Ya, normal ones would be WAY too big for a 10gal. thanks though!
