I have a small tropical setup with some Neon Tetras in. I have decided after a few weeks of running that the under gravel filter system that came with the tank is rubbish and wish to change over to a normal filter. I will need to take the fish out of the water to remove the under gravel system and just wanted to know how best to do this?
Do i put another heater in some water? will they be safe?
i really think you are wasting your money....i dont think the filter is the problem, its all how its maintained, can you describe your aquarium maintainance routine? how often are you changing water? cleaning gravel? etc etc?
what exactly is the problem with the undergravel filter? is your water not clean? does your water not test good? why do you consider it to be "rubbish"? they are great filters, and do a great job, but just like any other filter, they only work if maintained properly....i think this is a case of user error, your problem is elsewhere
what exactly is your opinion of a "normal" filter?
