I have read that Ghost Shrimp fry tend to stay on the mom's tummy (they are pink and really tiny). The problem this presents is trying to feed the fry. Often the ghost shrimp breed, its just the fry do not survive because they do not get the food they need. Maybe someone can tell you what you might do to help the fry get the food they need.

That's not the problem but thanks the prob is getting them too spawn shrimp can't tolerate less than perfect water quality but the trick is spawning them what triggers it is it quality food or live foods veggie protein what is it!!!!!!!!!!! This is so frustrating to. cause spawning is difficult without facts the only clues I have is a digital article about breeding crystal reds but the only thing they say is perfect water also if you have problems about anything sookielee pm me or Byron tell him I referred you to him also you are a good friend/ but feeding fry would would be rather easy for me it is just the spawning trigger I need too get but... I have no clue except water also I am a proud fish breeder I am even aloud to sell them at my school and if you want any they are free except shipping and handling but pm me about the details so they are private but my next step toward an Aquaria breeder is inverts so I have to be all around sucssesful to succeed at this business any more tips would be helpful no wrong ideas here:)

one of the issues with getting ghost shrimp to successfully breed is that ghost shrimp fry go into a larval stage the first few days. they are not actually shrimp. so most don't make it. but getting them to breed can be tricky. they need lots of hiding places as they will breed when they molt. and that is the issue. they might be to open to be able to breed. also it might just be that your specific ghost shrimp breed in brackish water. there are different types of ghost shrimp. some breed in fresh, some breed in brackish. so that is very tricky.

while they may live in freshwater they might only breed in brackish. have you seen them with eggs in freshwater before?

No I haven't seen them breed at all also I don't have all the hiding spots you mentioned also I have the aquirum salt so...... I just need to prep one of my smaller tanks and make it brackish? would a half gallon tank I have do?/so the fish in the other tank won't be affected also how many table-spoons two turn it brackish in a half-gal

i am not 100% sure but i believe you need to bring it to a salt level of 1.006 or something to that nature. i would ask a salt water person because i think you HAVE to use marine salt. also you might want to do some research with where you bought them and see if they know the scientific name for the specific breed you have and check to see if they are fresh or brackish water breeding. that way you don't have to go threw the trouble of setting up another tank for nothing.

I know saline and table salt are different but this bag says it is capable of hatching Brineshrimp eggs and brine shrimp are purely saltwater shrimp incapable of living freshwater so this salt should be able to turn water brackish anyways I already have tanks on hand the half gal is even portable it is so small anyways these have there insides showing through the head and when they die and are fresh they glow in the dark a green fluresant light hope this info could help considering that shop is going to be shut down until February or march because someone bought them out downside probly never going to know upside they are remoldling and getting more diverse fish for sale plus this is not a fish shop but a pet shop so they should only know the basics of what they sell plus I heard before they shut down for this they should only live 6 months to a year also whenever they are put in poor water from exp they jump out into the air an rather die but this was with fry tank so they probly just rejected the new home since the height was low and there was no hood at time but they still live because I would see them on the sides of the aquirum so gave up and put them back into the main so this is the most I know in any manor so if this backdrop helps in anyway please say so would say more but gotta go
