Baby Reticulated Hillstream Loach
I just had to share this with someone who might be interested.
I have seen a tiny fish darting around once or twice over the last couple of weeks but it was there one minute and gone the next so I didn't have a chance to identify it. This morning it is flitting around on a piece of drift wood and it is clearly a Reticulated Hillstream Loach. It is about 15mm long so I have every hope it will survive. I am ridiculously excited about it :-D
I knew they had been mating, but also knew the eggs were falling into the substrate and guessed they were probably being either eaten by my 7 corydoras or were being siphoned up during gravel cleans. I suppose there might be more but I definitely have one. I feel like a proud mum!
Congrats CelsB! Thats great news! And even more so because these are Gorgeous fish! Lets hope for some more! :-)
Love it! especially at the end where they nipped behind the rock for the really naughty stuff! haha
Great video
Congrats. on your new baby loach.
Thanks, and you know how new grandparents like to share their baby photos.....
He/she seems to be happy feeding on the algae in the wood and filter wall for the moment, but seems to come out at feeding time so hopefully may be getting a tiny bit of flake and shrimp pellet too.
