help with coral placement, please!

Here's a pic of my soft coral. As you can see most of the polyps are closed. I thought perhaps it was looking for more light, so I put it up closer to the light, but it's not doing well. Should I put this farther away from the light source? It's currently about 17-20" under a Kessil 350W LED.

I don't want to lose it. Any ideas?

If you just got this Coral, you need to definately place it on the bottom, it needs to acclimate to its new lighting. And Polyps and Zoas don't need alot of light.

Can it be on the sand?

I've put the LR it was anchored to on the bottom. Seems to be doing a bit better. Thanks for telling me they don't need much light.
