Can i ?

can i take my plants out of the little holder things and plant them into the substrate without any fertilizer etc in the substrate. i know the wool that they put in the pots attracts algae but im to nevous to change my tank incase something goes wrong?

I do that all of the time. Just be careful not to damage the roots any more than necessary. Expect some "die back".

When I bought a crypt for my 10 gallon it came in a pot with the wool. When I took it out it naturally "divided" itself so I planted both sections. It's been doing great and sprouting new growth. So I got 2 plants for the price of one! :D
