Heaters are not strong enough?
 

I have a 50 watt heater in my 20 gallon and a 100 watt heater in my 30 gallon. Im lucky if the temperature reaches 75 degrees in the 30 gallon and 76 in the 20 gallon. Both are turned up to 85 degrees. How much watts do I need for both tanks? seems I will need to replace both heaters

Some people use the 5w per gallon rule and others use 10w per gallon. It depends on how cold your room temperature is. I stick with the 10w since I'm in the northeast.

Its 68-69 degrees in the house. The top tank is still at 75 degrees. I may just go grab a 150 watt heater for that tank, put the 100w heater back into the 20 gallon and take the 50w heater thats in the 20 gallon and put it into my 5.5 gallon then take the 25w heater in there and put it into the 2.5 gallon betta tank lmao

Okay, I had enough of this heater stuff so I bought two Elite Hagens on sale for $14 each. Ones 300 watts the other 200 watts. Not the best brand but it will do until I get paid

Hey sometimes the cheaper ones work better. I've got all sorts of brand names and not so brand names in my tanks. Some of the less expensive ones outlived and outperformed the pricier ones.

The 25w heaters work perfectly in 2.5 gal. tanks. Good plan :thumbsup:

I bought a Betta today too and hes happy in the 2.5 gallon with a heater, filter, plant, small rock and a leaf hammock I got him. Bought an algae eater and two cichids for my top tank (30 gallons) and 4 Pristella Tetras, 1 algae eater and a bala shark for the bottom 20 gallon tank :)
