Heaters are not strong enough? I have a 50 watt heater in my 20 gallon and a 100 watt heater in my 30 gallon. Im lucky if the temperature reaches 75 degrees in the 30 gallon and 76 in the 20 gallon. Both are turned up to 85 degrees. How much watts do I need for both tanks? seems I will need to replace both heaters |
Some people use the 5w per gallon rule and others use 10w per gallon. It depends on how cold your room temperature is. I stick with the 10w since I'm in the northeast. |

Okay, I had enough of this heater stuff so I bought two Elite Hagens on sale for $14 each. Ones 300 watts the other 200 watts. Not the best brand but it will do until I get paid |
Hey sometimes the cheaper ones work better. I've got all sorts of brand names and not so brand names in my tanks. Some of the less expensive ones outlived and outperformed the pricier ones. The 25w heaters work perfectly in 2.5 gal. tanks. Good plan  |
