Cleaning A Filter
 

Can someone give me some tips/how to clean a filter. it has a sponge below carbon below the motor. Any Ideas?

Replace the carbon every 3-4 weeks if you use it all. Most of the time it is not needed at all except to remove medications or very strong odors.

The sponge should be rinsed in the tnka water you remove for a water change, once a week. Changing 25-50% weekly is the best way to keep the water as clean as possible without interupting the natural cycle of the tank.
