Bolivian Rams, German Rams, Apistogramma together?
Hi, new here with some questions. I've done several tanks in the past, mostly community tanks with tetras and cats and such. I'm looking to do a nice tank for our living room, it is 37 gallons, 12.5" by 26" by 30". I've been looking at Bolivian rams, german rams, and apistogrammas. Can these live together? I know I want a male/females pair for the rams. Can I have 2 Bolivians with 2 germans, or any combination of the 3 listed fish? Also, my wife loves corydora catfish... are these compatible at all?

If they're not, do you have any suggestions for colorful fish that mix well with Rams?

Your problem is going to be that all of these are bottom dwelling fish that get aggressive and territorial when breeding.
And they'll all breed in the tank.
For dwarf cichlids you're better off choosing one species and getting the appropriate number of males to females.
Take a look at the species profiles listed in the dark blue bar at the top of the forum under "Tropical Fish Profiles"

I agree. One "dwarf" cichlid species per tank unless you have a much longer tank. This has been my experience with several Apistogramma species and both rams over the years. And check the profiles for the rams, there are important considerations when choosing them that if not followed will end in trouble and dead fish.

For what it's worth, I have had two Bolivian Rams for several months now and have been very pleased. In addition to being more tolerant of water conditions then German Rams, they're become a bit more colorful since they've settled in and are always swimming about which is entertaining. Except for an occasional tussle with one another (never any damage done), they have shown no aggression at all to their other tank mates.
