Nano Tank: Mini Aqua-Garden 1 Attachment(s) Re-designed my 5 gal desktop tank (I swear I can't keep my hands off this thing...maybe it's because I stare at it for a couple hours every day!) and went a different route than my normal naturally planted look. Inhabitants: (2) Beckford's pencilfish (1) Betta Plants - giving some of these a try in the nano format; we'll see how it goes! I forsee a lot of pruning in the future  Hygrophila difformis Eleocharis parvula Several anubias spp Some sort of Crypt - maybe wendtii green? |
First thing... Welcome to the Forum! Very nice nano aquarium. I have been thinking of doing one like this. Just haven't had the time yet. It definitely had some thought put into it. :-) |
That Anubis almost looks fake. Nice tank, though pencil fish need to be kept in schools. |
Thanks! The anubias grow very well in this tank and I've had to divide them every 3 months or so. There's a couple of them stacked up in that corner so it makes the grouping look really bushy! The two pencilfish in there now show no proclivity towards wanting to school even though they are supposed to according to the books. They both have superb red coloring and actively "flit" (best way to describe it!) around the tank hunting down microscopic food particles for what seems like 24/7. They are great entertainment! Probably even too much so because it is a distraction from work :-) |
