Canister Filter - Very noisy

Hi There everyone,

I have a Via Aqua 750 canister filter that is a few years old now. Seems to have gotten very noisy and the water flow appears to have slowed a lot.

Any idea what could have gone wrong? Is there any replaceable components?

I really don't have too much of a clue! Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.[/quote]

I don't have a filter such as yours. So I went Googling. I have found that most noise occurs in you make and model of filter after cleaning. (I have attatched a link at the bottom of the post). My Magnums do the same thing, occasionally. I have found that this can be attributed to air in the lines or canister, or particles rubbing the impeller.

Check the impeller rod, sometimes they break over time making the impeller spin all weird and make a lot of noise and ruin flow.

Cheers,
I will check out the impeller. (Not that I know where that is!) Will pull it apart and have a look anyway.

Will let you know what I find.
