How to grow live plants?
I have a 40 gallon tall freshwater tank, I got it fully stocked a few weeks ago, it has three live plants, three different kinds, other than one of them being some kind of fern I have no idea what any of them are.
I want to have a fully stocked live plant tank, I only have gravel in my tank but I know that I have T-5 lights.
I'm curious as the best types of plants to get and the best way to care for them.
Thanks in advance for all your help.[/u]
Well, keeping plants can be as easy or as complicated as you want to make it. It can be as high tech or as low tech as imagineable, too.
Plants, like fish, have certain criteria that must be met. You will need to decide on what plants you want to keep. Set the tank up accordingly.
You will need to decide on whether or not you will be using CO2. With Co2 injection will come daily water testing, usually. High light, medium light, or lowlight plants. You will need to learn about fertilizing and dosing. Once you decide on plants you can set up your tank.
Thank you, I actually had no idea it would be that hard.
I am looking for plants that are the easiest to grow, I am not wanting to do CO2 yet. For now I would just like something easy that I can start with.
