texas cichlid
 

i want a texas cichlid but i know they are aggressive, how will he go in a tank with a black shark and assorted catfish (pictus, corydoras, synodontis eupterus, marble bristlenoses)

With possible exception of the shark, the other's would not stand a chance should the cichlid decide there are too many mouth's at feeding time, or the other fishes venture too close to the cichlid's territory which could be a couple square feet of the tank's bottom.
Best thing in my view ,,would be to puchase a large tank for the cichlid and not try to place it with the rather peaceful fishes you mention.
