CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I.D. THE CORALS PLEASE? i was given some corals by a friend that moved away and couldnt take them with him. they would have been thrown away otherwise. I KNOW VERY, VERY LITTLE ABOUT CORAL!!! does anyone know what these are called? and how to best take care of them? they are in my 14 gallond "Bio Cube". however, im trading it for the 29 gallon Bio Cube in the next day or so. also i would be VERY VERY grateful for any tips on how to care for these. the 14g bio cube came with 2 lights. one is a 24 watt "true actinic 03" and one 24 watt 10,000k. is this enough light? i think the 29 mode has double the light output..... any way heres the pics: http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/5797_fishes_029_1.jpg http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/5797_fishes_040_1.jpg |
the 2 in the bottom picture are caulastria, also known as candy or trumpet coral, the top coral in the top picture looks like blastomussa mertleti. |
anyone know if i have enough light for them? also, any care instructions? can anyone see the purplish bigger one top left, any one know its name? the hard coral (top right) i think is dead, it was dark pink with small purple spots but it is now a greenish brown color...... |
the brown coral on the top is either blastomussa mertleti or acanthastrea, if you can get a closer picture of that coral and the other non identified coral I can probably give you a more confident ID. |
